Making the Bittersweet Book Trailers
My family and I made book trailers for Bittersweet at the beautiful place that inspired the book, our family’s retreat on Lake Champlain. Each film, though different, conveys the experience of reading Bittersweet (“like J. Crew or Ralph Lauren, injected with an element of serious wrongness,” my sis said), and they all work together to bring the world of the book alive. My sister directed, my brother-in-law was second camera, and we—and many of the people we love—appear in the trailers: our cousins and friends and my son (joined by a turtle and a stunned baby bird). I can’t tell you how proud I am of these bitesize films, and how excited I am to share them with you. You can read more about how we made these trailers (and see lots of photos from “set”) here, here, here, here, here and here.
